ZOOM THROUGH JUNE

So Independence Month seemed to just zip right through, but we still managed to tick a lot of the meaningful boxes.  Got us some flag-raisings...

...and wreath-layings...

...Fil-com celebrating....

...and Consular Corps reception toasting...

...and with due respect to Best Friend's Wedding: Maybe there won't be marriage. Maybe there won't be sex. But by God there'll be line-dancing!

VIVIDLY REMEMBERED

Can't really say if this year's Vivid was more vivider or less vivider that last year's Vivid...I just like saying vivider! But, yes, there was once again a vast array of bright displays, trippy installations and intense interactives around the city for kids and grown ups to enjoy. Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

A treat this year was a special Pixar short projected onto the ceiling of the tunnel running under the Sydney Harbour Bridge (unfortunately, my camera phone tech is sliiiightly less state-of-the-art than Pixar's)

And this year, we decided to splurge on a trip to Taronga Zoo's own light exhibition, which turned out to be escalating levels of awesome.  The views of the city from the ferry and cable car rides can only be described (by me) as...Darth Vivider

The main entrance in turn declared from the outset that the zoo was serious and would not be kidding around with its vividing...

And once inside...UNLEASH THE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT

(adorable creatures, that is)

(i see you, Philippine tarsier)

yeah, Vivid be WILD
