GOT SERIOUS GAME

Genuinely touched to take part in a red carpet movie event as meaningful as the Australian premiere of "Quezon's Game". Modern and memorable venue, fascinating guests and, of course, great film. Long build-up, yes, but strong emotional pay-off at the end. (it suddenly got dusty it my section when the boats with the lights appeared)

Put me down for a four out of four stars review.

EDSA JAM

This year's EDSA commemoration was somewhat of a shindig, with a musical event covered by a Fil-com radio station that saw fit to feature us as on-air guests

(not as singing guests, but still)

The highlight was a video news reel interspersed with a medley of meaningful songs rendered by several supremely talented members of the Filcom.

By the finale, the audience was grooving because, seriously, regardless of where you stand on anything, "Handog" is a banger of a jam.

Big thanks to the following performers: Mr. Brian Lorenz, Ms. Cris Guce, Ms Mae Galvez, Ms. Nova de Lara, Mr. Jojo Sebastian and the event director Chi De Jesus and his assistant Apol Bautista

Special thanks to Ms. Violi Calvert and Mr. Andrew Russell of Radio Tagumpay triple H 100.1FM for broadcasting the event.

AND ON SUNDAY...WE ROCKED

Hell no this wasn't just any weekend at the theater. The fam went to the Sydney staging of School of Rock because it featured a fantastic Fil-Aus kid in the pivotal Tomika role, the girl that hesitates to join the band at first and then spectacularly breaks out later. (I actually "discovered" her a couple of years ago at one of the first Fil-Com events I ever attended in Sydney; I was so impressed by her then that I bought one of the cds her mom was selling on the spot =). Her performance in School was no less awesome, her Amazing Grace solo a particularly goosebump inducing moment.

The day was also especially enjoyable for me because it turned out especially enjoyable for the LLDD-Baby. She normally hates rock music (maybe because all the "rock" she's ever been exposed to is 80s new wave -- that's on me), but came away from School wanting to watch the original Jack Black movie and carry on head banging and face melting. The world of rock awaits.

me: so I'm a cool dad now, right?

LLDD-Baby: we're so kicking you out of the band

Shouts to the Department's Baguio office -- currently headed by the Sydney consulate's own former Admin officer -- for winning this year's #passporthugot

#labormanagementrelationsgoals

Meanwhile, back in Sydney....

Lakas pala kumain at mahal ng inorder ng date ko. Buti na lang ex-gf ko na siya.

In fairness, malakas rin naman mag-workout pagkatapos si ex-gf
