DIVINE DIALECTS

The simple cool multicultural moments are always the best. We were invited to a special "Celebrating Disciples of All Nations" mass in north Sydney, and it was...heavenly. The diverse cultural communities of the diocese were invited to take part wearing traditional dress, and portions of the mass were delivered in various ethnic languages, highlighted by a 15-versions rendition of "Amazing Grace"

sung by a Filipino choir,  of course =)

This brings back memories of one of my favorite things back in the U.K., the yearly Philippine Independence Day mass that gathered dozens of children of different provinces to say the Prayers of the Faithful in their native dialects. (I swear, there is nothing more adorable than hearing a young Batangueno express their devotion) My regret back then and even now is that I couldn't take pictures or video anything while inside the church during services. Those would have been cool to see over and over. But, yeah, I did still get to take in and enjoy all the post-mass multicultural fun and festivities.

led by a Filipino choir,  of course =)

FROM K-POP TO CAN-BRA

Soooo...our Embassy in Canberra must be looking to BTS (beat the Sydney), because their new Consul General is CRANIAL AGAIN

To recall, CRANIAL is a Korea/ASEAN expert -- and my batch/fantasy/basketball nemesis.  It's been years since we've sparred on anything, but it doesn't look like he's aged a day from then.

or as he's described on the batch chat group, "parang pinabili lang ng suka sa kanto"

I look forward to our many Boy Band Dance Battles at the ACT/NSW DMZ

THE LLDD-HYPHEN-L IS INTO FITNESS AND I'M HERE FOR IT

I mean, I would've been supportive even if it weren't the case...

but the LLDD-Hyphen-L is in fact now into power walking and corresponding activewearing and honestly we're all the better for it

you're welcome, Sydney

of course, the downside of her new fitness lifestyle is its aggressive shaming of my current tight and hike game -- or lack thereof

i'm so sorry, Sydney
