BEACHWATCH: BONDAT SA BRONTE

Further my assertion that the quality and quantity and proximity of Sydney's beaches gives it a huge leg up on the other major cities of the world, the fam made an easy trip to Bronte beach for a fun, laid-back birthday pakain of one of the consular staff.  The celebrant knew the beach well because on those occasional lazy Sundays when there were no work or personal chores to do, she and her husband would just board a bus from their inner-city suburb, quickly cross the Sydney CBD, and then just lay out and chill the rest of the day at Bronte. The place does lend itself to small to mid-size family and friend food gatherings because of  a wide grassy park behind the beach dotted with picnic sheds and bbq pits, plus a short strip of nice cafes a little further back. The surf's strong, but there's both natural and man-made rock pools for wussy swimmers like me.

In short, everyone's happy at Bronte!

the rule is you should wait 30 weekends after a birthday party meal before you can take off your shirt and go swimming, right?
