EATS THE EASTER SHOW!

So this is a thing down under: The Sydney Royal Easter Show is the largest event in Australia, close to two centuries old, and visited by over a million people over the course of two weeks around, um, Easter. It's where Aussie City meets Aussie Country. I just call it a lot of A LOT.

Seriously, the show's so sprawling and has so much going on it's hard for the senses to keep track of everything. Yet it also holds enough distinctly Australian moments as to be essential and unforgettable. Maybe we should hold post-arrival orientation seminars here.

So here's a picture gallery of highlights / crash course on Aussie culture.

Livestock

I laughed out loud at this. It's sooo going to be my new meme.

Agriculture

I don't know what makes a vegetable blue ribbon, but I do know any Simpson or Sheeran-shaped gourd is already a winner IN MY HEART.

Baked and Fried Fo....

...sorry, passed out for a second. BP shot up just looking.

Arts and Crafts

(models obviously hadn't visited the baked and fried food section yet)

Lumber Sports

As my guide said, "there'll be a lot of chopping and sawing and sweating and in the end some fat guy from Tasmania winning everything."

Showbags

The quintessential feature of Australian Shows! Sensory overload central! Swag bags on Steroids!

Or as the LLDD-Hyphen-L calls it, "settled na ako sa Sydney"
